Session 1
Your initial appointment will go for up to 90 minutes. This will give me enough time to gather detailed information about you and your presenting complaint. We’ll look at your habits (don’t worry, I’ve seen it all!), and routines around sleeping, exercising, relaxing, family/friends, social life, alcohol and coffee, stress and emotional health. We’ll also take time to discuss your current level of happiness/satisfaction.
Our initial consultation may include naturopathic testing and physical examinations (such as monitoring blood pressure), and I may refer you to a GP for blood work. General blood test results will give me baseline information on your nutritional status, liver/kidney functioning, blood cells (immunity), and cholesterol. The initial appointment will give me enough of an overview of your health and goals to design a comprehensive treatment plan.
Session 2
Generally around 60 minutes. This will include presentation of your personalised treatment plans and educating you on health-based strategies to suit your current lifestyle. Your treatment strategy may include herbal remedies and nutritional supplements. I will also give you recommendations around diet and wellbeing. I will be able to give you an idea of how long treatment might take, based on your condition, age, and how long your system has been out of balance.
Session 3+
Generally this will only take around 30 minutes and will entail further implementing your treatment strategy plus managing other concerns if and/or when they arise.
For regular clients who just need a repeat script or who have an acute infection, I’ve introduced 15min appointments. I just need to ascertain your particular symptoms so I can make up the most effective mix for you (personalised herbal mixes to suit particular conditions).
I favour an integrative approach that approach allows for referral to other practitioners such as GP, osteopath, counsellor, kinesiologist, personal trainer – I seek out the best of the best practitioners so my clients are in good hands
What kind of tests might be included?
In addition to tongue, nail, hair, and skin analysis, Naturopathic analysis may include:
Iris analysis
Each person’s irises are unique. Iris analysis is a profound tool where the practitioner can ‘read’ both irises, using either a magnifying glass and bright light or an iris camera. This remarkably accurate test provides insight you’re your individual constitution, and the consequences of your life choices and external influences (disease exposure, stress, diet & lifestyle).
Practitioners use this information to support holistic treatment strategies.
Physical examinations & medical tests
As a naturopath I am able to do various physical examinations including monitoring your blood pressure. I prefer to work in conjunction with your GP and rely on them to provide referrals for medical testing.
These tests provide baseline data on such things as nutritional status, liver, kidney and thyroid function, cholesterol and blood glucose levels, hormone profile, plus red and white blood cell analysis. These tests providing valuable information for holistic treatment strategies and long term monitoring of your overall health status
