Restorative Yoga
Restorative yoga is deeply therapeutic as each pose emphasises deep rest and relaxation of the body while, the breathing techniques enable the nervous system to calm down and restore internal balance. This practice utilises props such as blankets, bolsters, straps and bricks to totally support the body in each yoga pose.
Restorative yoga combines well with the Gawler Foundation’s ‘Mindfulness-Based Stillness Meditation’ as it provides a framework to stay present with ourselves in the moment. As we train our minds to find the space between our thoughts we are able to find inner peace and calm.

Gita Yoga
Gita yoga combines all the great spiritual wisdom of the past with current scientific research. It is deeply nurturing, gentle and accessible to everyone. Gita yoga is a unique hatha yoga practice that is based around a sequence of 10 yoga poses (asanas) which work to balance the mind, nervous and hormonal systems, while reconnecting us to spirit. Meditation, relaxation and pranayama (breathing exercises) are also included in the practice. A simply magical practice!

Yin Yoga
This is a quiet, meditative practice that enables us to draw our focus within and connect to our true essence. As we gently listen to our bodies and sink into various holds (stretching without force) we stimulate the deeper tissues of our body which encourages more flexibility and freedom of movement while releasing tension and promoting relaxing of our body, stillness of our mind and connection to our soul. A delightful life-transforming practice.

What to Expect?
- Beginner to experienced students are welcome in all classes
- Classes run for 60-90 minutes
- Wear warm and comfortable clothing
- Mats, props and blankets are provided
All 10 week yoga programs are designed to enhance deep relaxation, inner calm and balance.
Gaia yoga combines the essence of Gita yoga with Restorative and Yin Yoga poses. Mindfulness Meditation is also incorporated as a way of stilling our mind and calming our nervous system, so the body may maintain balance (health).
The classes are kept small to ensure optimal attention and nurturing.
